En la edición de la próxima semana de Startup Digest Chile, 3 de 11 actividades son organizadas por la PUC, mi pregunta es:

¿qué pasa con el emprendimiento en las demás universidades e institutos de Chile?

Al parecer la mayoría hace que sus alumnos sean “alumnos de silla” y no están haciendo su tarea de incentivar al alumnado a emprender e innovar… crees que estoy equivocado? cuéntame porque!

Lo prometido es deuda, y a continuación, además de explicar brevemente qué es Spotify (que de llegar a Chile, probablemente lo hará como en 5 años más), explicaré brevemente los pasos a seguir.

Introducción.-

Spotify es un reproductor de música web, de origen Sueco y que nació en Octubre del año 2008. A pocos días de su lanzamiento en Suecia, el New York Times definió Spotify como “A Swedish iTunes killer”.

Una vez registrado, tienes acceso a su catálogo que contiene más de 15 millones de canciones y puedes escucharlas de forma legal… nice? cierto?? Además, puedes armar tus propias listas, sincronizar tus canciones con tu iPod, escuchar las listas creadas por artistas, celebridades y sellos como Sony Music.

En su lanzamiento en Suecia, Spotify recibió $12 millones de euros en capital de riesgo, y en el 2009, en su lanzamiento para el resto de Europa recibió $27 millones de euros adicionales, dejando la empresa con un valor de $170 millones de euros. Causó tanto furor, que hasta Sean Parker (el ex-fundador de Napster y ahora en uno de los más altos cargos de Facebook), decidió involucrarse con la empresa y a Daniel Ek (Spotify CEO) le presentó Peter Thiel y sus secuaces de Founders Fund [1]. Recién en Julio del 2011, Spotify entró al mercado de EE.UU y luego de su integración con Facebook, será más fácil acceder y compartir gustos musicales con tus amigos.

En buen chileno, Spotify le da mil patadas a Grooveshark.

Pasos.-

Solicita tu invitación a Spotify aquí

Te enviaré una invitación tan pronto reciba la información de tu email.
Una vez que hayas recibido tu invitación a Spotify. Podrás continuar con los siguientes pasos.
OJO: recién en el paso 8 debes abrir el link que recibirás en la invitación.

Spotify actualmente funciona en Windows y Mac. (también existe una versión preliminar para Linux [3] )

Como el 57,14% de mis lectores tiene Windows (gracias Google Analytics), le daré prioridad a este OS:

1.- Descarga e instala Vidalia, este programa te permitirá obtener IP de EE.UU.

2.- Abre Vidalia y anda al panel de control -> advanced

3.- Haz click en Edit current torrc

4.- Selecciona todo el texto que aparecerá y bórralo!

5.- Copia y pega el siguiente texto en el espacio anterior:

# This file was generated by Tor; if you edit it, comments will not be preserved

# The old torrc file was renamed to torrc.orig.1 or similar, and Tor will ignore it

# If set, Tor will accept connections from the same machine (localhost only)

# on this port, and allow those connections to control the Tor process using

6.- Haz click en OK, reinicia el programa.
A partir de ahora, Vidalia te entregará una IP de EE.UU que te permitirá registrarte en Spotify y acceder a su contenido desde Chile.

7.- Anda a tu navegador favorito, y en “Opciones” o “Herramientas” del navegador, accede a:

y guarda los cambios.

8.- Accede al link que recibiste en la invitación que llegó a tu email

9.- Regístrate en Spotify utilizando el link recibido en la invitación en el navegador web donde configuraste el Proxy para obtener IP de EE.UU.

* Luego de haberte registrado en el sitio web de Spotify.com; puedes deshabilitar el proxy en tu navegador web con toda seguridad.

10.- Descarga Spotify para Windows

11.- Instala Spotify e inicia sesión

12.- Felicitaciones! Es la primera vez que accedes a Spotify!!

Sin embargo, todavía no terminas. Aún debes configurar Spotify para que funcione utilizando el proxy que te entrega una IP de EE.UU.

13.- Anda a la pestaña Modificar —> Preferencias

Y en proxy, selecciona “Socks5” y escribe:

14.- Reinicia Spotify y ahora podrás disfrutar su catálogo con total tranquilidad y todas sus características [2].

* Previo a abrir Spotify en tu PC, recuerda abrir Vidalia para tener acceso a una IP de USA. En mi caso personal, dejé Vidalia configurado para que se abra automáticamente cada vez que inicio Windows.

If anyone can be said to represent the spirit of an entrepreneurial generation, the man to beat for now is the charismatic cofounder and chairman of Apple Computer, Inc., Steven Jobs. He transformed a small business begun in a garage in Los Altos, California, into a revolutionary billion-dollar company–one that joined the ranks of the Fortune 500 in just five years, faster than any other company in history. And what’s most galling about it is that the guy is only 29 years old. Jobs’s company introduced personal computers into the American home and workplace. Before the founding of Apple in 1976, the image most people had of computers was of machines in science‐fiction movies that beeped and flashed or of huge, silent mainframes that brooded ominously behind the closed doors of giant corporations and Government agencies. But with the development of the transistor and then the microprocessor chip, it became possible to miniaturize the technology of the computer and make it accessible to personal users. By the mid-Seventies, a starter computer kit, of interest mainly to hobbyists, was available for about $375, plus assorted parts.
